We are aware of the following problems (for which we are not responsible
and for which we do not know a good work-around) with GEMINI 1.1:
- GEMINI as autostart program under TOS 1.4: There are sometimes problems
with accessories after exiting GEMINI. Also the VDI sometimes gets its
workstations mixed up (This is a VDI bug!!).
- A few programs do not run or do not run correctly under GEMINI for unknown
reasons to us. To these programs belong e.g. FOMA, VIP Professional and
SBREAK. If anybody has some ideas about this, please let us know.
- All programs which follow the Mark-Williams C extended arguments standard
have problems with Atari's ARGV method, because they are slightly
different. The work-around is simple: use the X:N option in $PRGNAME_EXT.
To these programs belong e.g. Uniterm and Flash.
- When Mupfel is started by shell-escape from TOS programs (mostly editors
like Z or MicroEMACS) then there are problems with the screen in GEM
programs started afterwards from Mupfel. The only remedy we know is:
DON'T DO IT!
If you absolutely need to do this then you should install these programs
such that all windows are closed at the program start. This will not
solve the whole problem. To solve it we need to know for each process in
the chain of parent processes if they are TOS or GEM programs.
As far as we know there is no legal way to obtain this information.
- Tip for users of Turbo-C 2.0: To use the shell function you have to start
TC from Mupfel or GEMINI. You should define "mupfel" as an alias for "sh"
before starting TC.
